The COVID-19: Guidance for the maintaining of services within health and care settings published by Public health England sets out the IPC advice for health and care organisations as the UK continues to maintain healthcare services during the ongoing pandemic.
Public Health England has issued guidance on COVID-19: Infection prevention and control for mental health and learning disability settings. This document is an appendix to the COVID-19; Guidance for the maintaining of services within health and care settings and covers the specific health and learning disabilities requirements in terms of applying the main guidance in these specific settings. this should therefore be read in conjunction with this guidance.
The PHE statement regarding NERVTAG review and consensus on cardiopulmonary resuscitation as an aerosol generating procedure (AGP) has been published by the DHSC. This explains PHE’s application of the review and consensus published by the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG) on 24 April 2020, regarding whether cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by chest compressions and defibrillation is associated with an increased risk of transmission of acute respiratory infections and should be considered to be aerosol generating procedures (AGPs).
COVID-19 adult social care action plan
The action plan sets out how the government will support the adult social care sector in England through COVID-19.
